The short answer: yes, laundry perfume is safe for the washing machine, for all types of fabric and, provided it is dermatologically tested, also for the clothes of children and people with sensitive skin. Below we explain why, and where the exceptions lie.
What laundry perfume actually is and how it differs from fabric softener
Laundry perfume is a concentrated, water-based fragrance designed specifically for fabrics. You add it to the fabric softener compartment or to the final rinse. Unlike fabric softener, it contains no fatty substances that coat the fibres, so it does not reduce the absorbency of towels and does not clog the washing machine. It has one job only: to keep laundry smelling good for a long time, and evenly.
Safety for the washing machine
Laundry perfume is a liquid with no solid particles, and it leaves no deposits in the drawer or the drum. It can be used with all programmes and temperatures, including washes at 30 °C.
